 Board of Trustees Finance Committee Meeting

February 22, 2006

 

The Finance Committee meeting was called to order by co-chair Sue Herring at 3:45 p.m. 

 

Tom Brimberry, Sue Herring and Rod Johnston were present.  Also present was Amy Falasz-Peterson, Director.

 

 

The committee discussed looking at funding options for the building.  Different financial planning consultants were discussed.  The total project cost, targeting a 2007 referendum, is $12 million.  The library would need to fund approximately $800,000. 

 

Discussion continued about a referendum.  In 1988, the library sought to double the tax rate to move into the current building.  It is anticipated that the same thing will happen in 2007. 

 

Sue Herring and Amy Falasz-Peterson decided to set up an appointment with the Regions bank manager to see if they would be able to handle such a loan.
