FONDULAC DISTRICT LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
December 15, 2008
Members of the Fondulac District Library Board of Trustees met in special session on Monday, December 15, 2008. President Hale called the meeting to order at 5:16 p.m.
On roll call the following members were present: Mr. Hale, Mrs. Herring, Mr. Johnston and Mr. Lasswell. Also present were Ms. Falasz-Peterson, Director, Mrs. Hensley, Assistant Director and Mrs. Geier, Administrative Assistant. Mrs. Cole and Mrs. Humphrey were absent. Attorney Brian Mooty was also in attendance.
Mr. Hale appointed Mr. Johnston secretary pro tem.
Attorney Mooty handed out an intergovernmental agreement from the city of East Peoria. This agreement is in response to the library’s proposed agreement that was submitted to the city in November.
M/S/P (Hale/Herring) not to accept the intergovernmental agreement from the city of East Peoria as presented.
Ms. Falasz-Peterson discussed the meeting between herself, Mrs. Hensley, Mr. Hale, Mr. Lasswell and the architects for the city and the library’s architect. She reported that the city’s architect and the library’s architect have had conversations and have exchanged some ideas about the library building and how it sits on the new property. The library’s architect has come up with a new idea on how to position the library on the property, which would leave room for expansion as well as change the flow of traffic for a drive up facility.
Ms. Falasz-Peterson reported that both Carol Ogle and Daren Lowery declined our offer to be on the board. She pointed out that she included some names in her brief report. Mr. Lasswell suggested that she contact Mary Robison from the list. Mr. Hale suggested Chad Joos. The board directed Ms. Falasz-Peterson to contact Mary Robison and if she declines, to contact Chad Joos and then to continue down the list.
The board tentatively set a special meeting for January 7, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
Mr. Johnston adjourned the meeting at 5:59 p.m.
