WHO MAY APPLY?

Anyone who:

  • Is at least 5 years old
  • AND resides in the Fondulac library district.*

*The Fondulac library district includes all of
Fondulac Township along with those parts of
East Peoria in Groveland Township and
School District #86.

Please note: The map to the right is only an
approximation of library district boundaries.

WHAT CAN I CHECK OUT?

With a valid library card, there is no limit to the amount of items a patron can check out.

There is a non-refundable replacement charge for each lost or damaged item.*

WHAT ARE THE CHARGES FOR LOST ITEMS?

Charges for lost items are based on the current cost to replace the item. The cost for items varies. Check with a staff person at the Circulation Desk to determine the cost of the item.

CAN I RESERVE BOOKS AND OTHER MATERIALS?

If an item you need is owned by FDL but not on the shelf, you may request it be held for you when it is returned. This can be done in person, by phone (699-3917), or online.

To place holds in RSA Cat, login to the catalog (upper right corner of the catalog) using your library barcode and PIN (password).

After you login, your name will replace the login boxes.

You can place holds without logging in but you will be asked to supply login information for each item.

To Place a Hold:

  1. Search for the material you are interested in.  The search results page will appear.
  2. Click on a blue Details button or the item title to display more information about the item you selected.
  3. On the Item Details screen click on the “Place Hold.” link.

    • Change your Pickup Library.
    • Set an expiration date after which you no longer want to receive the hold.
    • Set a suspension start and end date if you will be out of town and do not want your hold filled during a certain period.
    • Click on the “Place Hold” button to complete your hold.
    • You will see a message if your hold is successfully placed or a notification if the hold is not allowed.  Not all items are eligible for holds.

HOW LONG ARE RESERVED ITEMS HELD?

Items will be held for 3-5 days. If you are unable to pick up your item(s), please call the library.

HOW DO I GET AN ITEM SENT HERE FROM ANOTHER LIBRARY SYSTEM?

This free service is available to anyone with a valid Fondulac District Library card. Books and certain other materials such as magazine articles and audio books not owned by the library can be borrowed from another institution per patron request. The material may then be checked out by the patron for a specified time period.

A request may be placed in person at the Circulation Desk, by phone (699-3917), or online by using the InterLibrary Loan Request Form.

HOW CAN I RENEW ITEMS I HAVE CHECKED OUT?

You can renew most materials you borrow 1 time, if no one else is waiting for the item. Videos & DVDs cannot be renewed.
You may renew your items over the phone or online. Please have your library card in-hand.

HOW CAN I RENEW OLINE? The exceptions listed below will generate an error message informing the patron that the renewal did not take place.
