Gaming at the Library

See lists of all games offered at Fondulac District Library!

Fondulac District Library offers in-library gaming for all ages. Benefits of offering gaming in the library include, but are not limited to, encouraging social interaction and educating and entertaining the individuals who participate in them. Studies display that games aid perception, cognition, and decision making, as well as encourage team work.

A variety of classic and modern board games are available for in-library play by children, teens, adults, and families.

The library also  offers children and young adults in-library use of video gaming systems.  The children’s department has two Nintendo WiiU stations, and PlayStation and Steam computer gaming are available at the stations in the teen area.

Video gaming systems in the children’s department are for children age 13 and under and adults who accompany them.  Gaming systems in Teen Space are for teens age 14 through 19 and adults who accompany them.

All games and game accessories must be checked out from a staff member.  To check out games, a patron must present a valid library card or a picture ID.  Patrons may check out one game at a time.  No games or extra accessories from home or outside the library may be used at the library in conjunction with library-owned games, systems, and accessories. Please ask at the library for more information on our gaming policies.

Grown Up Game Nights

While the library’s board games are available for all ages at any time, the PlayStations (3 & 4!) and Steam Station video gaming stations are usually reserved for teens aged 14 through 19. Not on Grown Up Game Nights, though! Gamers age 20 and older are invited to get their game on starting at 5 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month. Bring your library card or photo ID, and check in at the second floor Information Desk to get started!
