#FDL: ‘Tis the Season at the Library

If you want to get into the holiday spirit, Fondulac District Library has much to offer.

The Dewey Decimal System has a specific number for holiday materials.  Our library catalogs Christmas books  under 394.2663.  They cover a range of topics including gift-giving, crafts, cookbooks and more.

If you are looking for a great novel with a holiday theme, there are many in our collection.  We have created a bookmark that lists authors who have written holiday novels. Ask for one of these at the Information Desk.  These novels also have genre stickers on their spines in case you feel like browsing the shelves for a good read.  The sticker has a Christmas tree on it. If you can’t find a specific book you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to ask a staff member.  We can always search area libraries and place a hold on a particular item if we don’t own a copy or if it’s checked out.

The library also has a collection of holiday music and films.  Classic movie favorites like How the Grinch Stole Christmas or Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer are located in our “DVD Kids” section. Others like A Christmas Story or It’s a Wonderful Life can be found in the “DVD Film” collection.

We’re not just about checking out items.  There are several holiday events going during the month of December. Take a look at our  calendar for more information or to register.
