Fondulac District Library received Notice 1437 (February 2018) from the Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, “Information About Your Tax Forms.” 

The IRS is reviewing The Bipartisan Budget Act enacted on February 9, 2018, that retroactively extended and modified numerous tax provisions covering 2017. As most tax forms were printed for distribution prior to the signing of new legislation, we recognize this may impact some tax forms ordered. To ensure you have the latest version of the tax product, we strongly encourage you to visit for updates on the implementation of this law. Updated versions of tax forms will only be available on

Please consider this information if you have IRS-printed federal tax forms as distributed at the library. The IRS will not be re-printing forms or redistributing them to the library. Contact 1-800-829-3676 for more information.

Tax Forms at the Library

Due to federal and state budget cuts, the Internal Revenue Service and Illinois Department of Revenue have reduced the paper forms distributed to libraries.

In 2018, Fondulac District Library expects to receive limited supplies of only the following documents:
FEDERAL:  1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ forms as well as instructions
STATE:        IL-1040 forms and instructions

Additionally, tax forms may be printed from library computers or copied at library photocopiers at the cost of 10 cents per page (black & white).

Patrons may utilize the library’s public access computers to file taxes online; however, assistance is not provided with the process.

Tax Preparation

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide

AARP Tax-Aide is providing free tax preparation at Fondulac District Library in 2018. This service is available to all, regardless of age, income, or residency, and AARP membership is not required. The service will be provided on Wednesday and Thursday mornings starting February 1 through April 12. Appointments for this assistance are required, and registration begins on January 16. Registration will remain open until all available appointments are filled. To make an appointment, visit or call the library at (309) 699-3917 ext. 2251 or 2252. METEC Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

METEC’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program offers tax help to participants that meet income guidelines. The Volunteer Tax Assistance program provides free tax preparation, electronic filing and financial education to help the underserved build for the future and become self-sufficient. The program is funded by the Central Illinois Financial Education and Asset Building Coalition, a Peoria-based non-profit coalition. For more information, call 309-676-3832 .
