Event Details
The Pettengill-Morron House was built in 1868 in Peoria’s historic West Bluff neighborhood for businessman and social reformer Moses Pettengill (1802-1883). Designed in the Second Empire architectural style, the house has a grand Victorian appearance with the addition of a Colonial Revival porch and porte-cochère added circa 1900. Upon the death of the house’s final occupant, Jean McLean Morron (1879-1966), the building and its contents were donated to the Peoria Historical Society. Today, the home features a fine collection of mid-18th to mid-20th century furniture, artwork, and textiles from the Pettengill and Morron families. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
