Banned Books Week 2025

Start Date

An annual event established in 1982, Banned Books Week spotlights the freedom to read and draws attention to the harms of censorship. In 2024, more than 2,400 unique titles were challenged in libraries and schools, nearly ten times the annual average.

This year, Fondulac District Library encourages readers to broaden their horizons with a Freedom to Read Bingo Challenge for teens and adults, now to October 31. Pick up a Bingo card from the Adult Services desk, or complete the challenge through Beanstack on the library’s website, and choose from a variety of reading genres to complete a Bingo. Return your card by October 31 for a completion prize and a drawing entry for even more prizes.
